The RT600 Mission Simulator System (“System”) product consists of a Display Control Unit (DCU) Trainer, the RT600 Mission Simulator System Software (“System Software”) and a System User Guide. The System includes two main functions: the Instructor Station and the Student Station. The Instructor Station allows the Instructor to position the ELT on a VFR Sectional Chart, select either a VHF (e.g. 121) or 406 MHz ELT, vary signal & noise levels and “fly” the aircraft for ELT prosecution. The Student Station monitor provides the student a HSI display and aircraft lat/lon position.

- Set any valid VHF or 406 frequency
- Choose transmitted resolution of the 406 GPS position
- Set ELT signal & noise levels
- US VFR Sectional, Open Street and Open Topo Maps
- Enter ELT Lat/Lon & use cursor to drop initial aircraft location on map
- Aircraft 2D navigation w/breadcrumb flight path for debrief
- ELT audio
- Plot Student’s Line of Positions (LOP) for debrief
- Up to two simultaneous ELTs
- 121 & 406 ELT Modes
- Student Station:
- Provides information for Student to determine and report a LOP (lat/lon/HDG/time)
- Use ESC key to display aircraft lat/lon (ala G1000 Range Knob)

System Requirements: A computer is required with an internet connection for the Sectional Chart and one unused USB port (USB 2 or 3) for the DCU Trainer. The Student Station function utilizes the computer’s main monitor and keyboard. It is recommended that the Instructor Station function be displayed on a second monitor (1280×768 resolution minimum) & controlled by an external mouse. The System is supported to run on a Windows 10 (PC or Laptop) computer. The System should work on Windows 7 & 8 computers as well subject to a properly installed 3rd party USB driver (included in the installation package) for the DCU Trainer connection. Specific PC requirements are:
- Windows 10 (8u51 and above)
- Windows 8.x (Desktop)
- Windows 7 SP1
- RAM: 128 MB
- Disk space: 260 MB for supplied Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
- Processor: Minimum Pentium 2 266 MHz processor
- Local administrator rights to install this software
